It's always a bit auspicious what's going on at Macc. Surely players like Whittaker and Pilkington are playing for peanuts. Something never adds up. |

Re: Lowest budget
How has he worked out that they have the lowest budget in this league? Not only that but he stated it was fact.
I find that very difficult to believe sorry. There have been umpteen threads and comments re budgets on here and if there was a list out there I'm confident that someone on RP would have found it. |

Re: Lowest budget
Macc keep playing the lowest budget card, but not sure I believe it some of their players are not staying there on peanuts and it appears that the owner is putting money in otherwise why would a bank error cause the wages to be late. While there crowds are low which will affect their income budget they must be getting funding from other sources. When that talk about the lowest budget is it the income from the gates or the budget available to spend on players he is talking about.

Re: Lowest budget
Budget is pretty much irrelevant. Its how the budget is spent that is important. FGR threw money at it season after season, it finally paid off but they seem to be struggling as they can't use the same model in the FL.
Askey is obviously a good man manager and gets average players playing well as a team. Mellon buys so many players some of them are going to turn out ok, though if they don't go up this time I think that will have to change. If we don't go up we can't blame the budget either way. |

Not to do with lowest budget but this will give you and idea who's got the biggest budget (Orient & Eastleigh) and how Billericay can pay what they are in tier 7 is truly staggering |

Re: Lowest budget
It's comments like this that will get John Askey a job higher up. I can't see him being at Macc for to much longer. If you were a chairman at a league 2 club, looking for a manager to work on a tight budget, then John Askey wouldn't be a bad choice, but if you then believe he is achieving what he is with Macc on the smallest budget in the league, then he becomes the number 1 choice.
Is John Askey selling himself with this comment? I wouldn't be surprised if he was following the payment issue.
