Re: Definition of Irony
I'm not saying they aren't playing better than our lot,but that's due to the way theyre set up rather than how good they are as individuals.
Franks is a classic example. If they had signed an ex prem player, who has played the majority of his career in league one,and was released by his club because they couldn't afford him...... you'd be screaming 'how can they afford him' Franks cv beats any of their players hands down and was probably on more money than any of them at Hartlepool. Not a clue how much we're paying him,but it wont be cheap. If wiki is to be believed. Andrade scored 3 goals in 5 years before joining Woking. He scored 5 in 43 there. The type of signing we'd be dismayed at. BW signed him from there. They are all non league footballers who are well drilled and coached. |

If anyone thinks their set up is the way forward, then we should be looking to encourage a NW team to do an Arsenal with us. People could then stop putting their hands in their pockets, attending games. Last edited by RemovedUser; 4th April 2018 at 09.20:35.. |

Re: Definition of Irony
Not really . Twas ever thus. That’s the way football has always been. Clubs with alternative sources of income beyond their gates can get ahead. It’s the same in every division. Sadly a club which is a cash flow business based solely on gates cannot compete. It’s unfair but that’s the way it is, and maybe one day you and others will listen to what I am saying.

Re: Definition of Irony
A Club of their real budget would not be able to survive in conf south never mind our league. Thats the problem with all the league teams who drop down. They think its going to be easy and go straight back up hence keep a similar overspend budget. Then they find they are mid table, crowds drop and they hit major financial trouble.
