You can't compare struggling last season to being in the play offs most of this season in terms of having a better season. How do you judge progress then? I think you need to read the original post again.

So why bother signing anyone (be it player or manager) on a longer than one season contract? Why invest in a team without it making a blind bit of difference for the future? How are you supposed to judge progress? Going up a few divisions (as you said in any league) are you saying that this seasons Man City teams isn't any better than lasts? Or last seasons Leicester wasn't any worse than the Leicester team that won the league? Sorry, but this is a ridiculous statement.

Well this season the league isn't the same, the teams we are are playing against have changed their squads/teams to that's what I mean yes we have been up there all season but would this team have been in the top 5 all last season? Depends I suppose on what you call progress because since Xmas we have been on the decline even before Keates went, now if we've made the play offs then maybe that would be progress but midtable if we finish a possible 9th is that progress?
