Doesn't give you much confidence to buy a season ticket, looks like it is going to be a very long season.
Hell Sam get moving, cut the BS & get an assistant to help you

Don't think we can quite say it's all over yet, few people not happy yet if you look at the majority of clubs bar Salford (money bags) you'll see not many have mad more then 1/2 signings. As for big name signings, whatvreally is that anymore here? Genuine question. The likes of Nathan Arnold has been mentioned a few times, I wanted him before he went to Salford but when he went there it's clear the ambition and money spoke volumes more. I think big Sam is correct in waiting for the right type of player who want to win and be part of the team. Not a previous "big name" looking for big cash and settle at the end of a career. We still have 3 weeks before pre season, patience fellow reds

Some players will.want to sign early to get themselves sorted but others may wait and see what offers they get. Particularly if we are looking at signing players from higher levels, as SR said .

I understand the concern but patience is needed.

I agree there is plenty of time, but we know the track record by now - when we do end up signing players, many of them (indeed most strikers) are not good enough. Add that to what Ricketts has said:

Squad of 18
Will include two loan players
Includes Tharme and Smith
Includes a “cheap as chips” goalkeeper

Alarm bells should be ringing loud and clear , especially if we lose one or both of our centre halves.

Last season was our chance and we blew it when it was there to be won. Said it then, we would never have a bigger budget than that again.

I would worry if this is the case.

The strikers he's bringing in will be the key. Failing to land any of his main targets in the summer hampered us hugely. No more Massankas please.

Why would we be losing them?

Maybe some of the players he wants are on holiday or simply mulling over offers? I'd rather wait for the next few weeks to pan out before getting myself into a panic or worry. Once things start taking shape then it will be fairer to judge. There's no doubt loads going on in the background but you'd think Sam was chilling out with his feet up reading some posts.

Macclesfield didn't have a massive squad last season and there were times when they couldn't have a full bench of players on match days.

at least we have a youth system that can be called upon when things get desperate
