Re: Davies leaves for Walsall (Confirmed)
It’s not their call though is it , if nominated and votes counted you gain enough then they have to accept the results , maybe it needs a radical shake up fresh blood and diffrent ideas are always good in my book

Re: Davies leaves for Walsall (Confirmed)
I've supported Wrexham for nearly 60 years now..First with my Dad, Uncles, and odd Auntie.
Now....With my two lads, and sometimes more.. We pay to get in, and buy pies, drinks, and between all of us, spend quite a few quid...If I'm being honest, non of us buy into this being an owner, My Racecourse stuff, and don't go to meetings. But over a season, despite the poor entertainment on offer, do spend a lot of money.. Are we second rate supporters..????.

Re: Davies leaves for Walsall (Confirmed)
Been a Wrexham fan for something like 65 years. Was invited to join the Supporters Association committee in 1974 ( after being a letter-writing keyboard warrior) by Secretary John Roberts and WFC 's amazing publicity Director Charles Roberts. Spent 30 fabulous , enjoyable , years on that committee in which ....I like to think ...we contributed hugely in progressing our Club. We didn't always make friends in the Boardroom ....Fred Tomlinson had no respect for us , but Pryce Griffiths was always supportive .... but that's how it goes!
Retired from SA duties in 2008 and thought that was it. Missed the involvement and was persuaded by my old mate Dixie McNeil (was on his Testimonial Committee ) to join the Former Players Association gang. It has been 4 years now and I can honestly say I've never enjoyed such fun ....and felt satisfaction in raising money for Wrexham AFC and Charity ....as we have done. Sadly , which might endorse pagl's views , I had a disagreement with a former WST Chairman on Facebook , over his mocking Chester's relegation. I suggested that that their demotion , plus Tranmere's promotion , left us lost re derby match income . His response was to insult me and suggest I , as an old man , went to bed. I can cope with his sort! Could say more about other former WST Chairmen ....including THE rebel anti -Hamilton hero who has now become the most conservative leader you could imagine ...against WST members having the audacity to dare to think they should choose our WST/ WAFC Leaders !! Won't bother though for obvious reasons.

Re: Davies leaves for Walsall (Confirmed)
In my experience the WST board are very open and welcoming to any suggestions/feedback, and anyone who wants to volunteer to do something.
So, for anyone who has an idea that they think would benefit the club, it would be worth contacting them and taking it from there. Ultimately they all have day jobs and can only do so much themselves. Personally I think that they have done a fantastic job to put us in a position where we have security over our home, are debt free and profitable. It’s a crying shame that this season petered out so badly, but to me the responsibility for that rests with the former manager and players. |

There's disagreeing strongly and there's pointless rants about the trust, the manager and the club. I tend to respond when I feel that criticism is unjustified and unwarranted. It is impossible to address ever individual complaint in an instant but most comments and suggestions are I'm sure considered and evaluated. Not all will come to fruition. I'm not sure how much more transparent the club could be about the ultimate aim of promotion. A lot depends on the direction / vision that the manager has and the aim of automatic promotion has to be paramount with play offs as a back stop. The manager has a finite budget and must be allowed to spend it as he wishes, success on the field and fundraising will boost the budget to enable improvements. Ultimately it's down to the new managers recruitment, style of play and success on the field. The WAFC board have done their job and made an appointment. I feel it's a decent one. Ricketts is ambitious and hard working and wants to take the club forward. Give him the chance. |
