We really shouldn’t allow ourselves to get stitched up like this - in any other line of business - the person who signed this off would be having to answer some very serious questions

This sort of thing happens all the time. He asked to leave because he wanted to be nearer Sheffield. He signs for a club nearer Sheffield.

You can wrap it up as some.massive failure on the boards behalf but I just don't see it. I'd have preferred if he'd have stayed but he wanted to go let him go. He's not irreplaceable.

Of course he’s not irreplaceable - but at the same time he was an asset with value - that we have let go for zero value - we can’t - as a fan owned club - simply write assets off like this because he wanted to play for someone else
