I personally think it’s a bit tight of Liverpool if we’re due staged payments particularly with the money running through that club. But they’ll tell you that’s how business is done.

It's possibly in both clubs interests for tax purposes. Hopefully we also get interest on top, and can rely upon a regular large income for the next couple of seasons. It'd be great if we got it all in one go, but would probably result in us losing part of it in tax payments.

So how are they going to hide a doubling of the turnover in the accounts? We may be getting staged payments but it’s likely to be one invoice.

I'm no accountant but I assume the revenue will be reflected in the accounts at the date the debt become 'live' regardless of stage payments, which will be the current set of accounts.

Unless we win promotion, have a cup run or sell further players I would think it would be pretty straight forward to guestimate a pretty accurate value relating to the clause based on the previous set of accounts.

I find it poor that Liverpool and similar clubs, awash with the premier league billions, can continue to starve lower league clubs with such payment structures.

It's my understanding from the last meeting, Taylor's money is paid in stages with a separate invoice. The club recognises the income when received. I assume the same will apply to the Ward money.
