Perhaps I used the wrong phrase but I don’t think that Ricketts had sufficient knowledge of non league or even the lower leagues and relied heavily on Barrow. That’s probably why he worked so hard in the summer to entice Barrow here.

Fair comment but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Remember reading his wiki biography and thinking he fell out with people at his clubs as a player and wondering if he was a troublemaker. It's no secret that our FPA and Bamfords patrons were less than impressed at his outright refusal to speak for 5 minutes to diners prior to a match or arrange for Barrow or Darlington to stand in for him. Struck me as disrespectful to people who helped pay his wages and , in theory, "own our Club". What a refreshing change to hear Graham Barrow speak so passionately about what it means to be involved with a great club such as ours and performing with dignity and professionalism.
