Part of the clubs statement

Shrewsbury Town triggered elements in Sam’s contract enabling them to approach him and at that point we were obliged to allow him to speak to them.

contradicts Ricketts quote

"Shrewsbury never even reached the compensation limit in my contract yet I was given permission to speak to them"

The club's statement doesn't necessarily contradict Rickett's quote. But my point is I find it much more likely that the club is telling the truth than Ricketts is.

It's done anyway, and we'll probably never know. Time to move on.

agree with that, whats done is done, and i do have a confidence that we will be alright, which i didn't have when Keates left.

We are better off without him, despite what Krux would have you believe.
How could anyone think that keeping Ricketts here by blocking him from speaking with Slops and having him in charge tonight would be a better outcome than sending him on his way?

One of my team comes up to me and says they've got a job at another company. Their contract says that they have to give 6 weeks notice. I can enforce that but depending on the situation I may let them go early if it benefits the business.

This is a classic example of what has happened here. Yes we could have tried to enforce things, but clearly they've offered enough to trigger talking to him. Once he's told us that he wants to go, the board will do what's best for WAFC.

You have a very narrow view of what's best for WAFC - that the compensation was paid in full. The board made a decision that actually, it was better not to have the full amount and to let him go immediately. As they have all the facts, i'll give them the benefit of any doubt until proven otherwise.

He is only out for himself, he won't stop until he is manager of the national team. He won't be staying at any club too long until he gets to the premiershit where he will be in the limelight for the top job he so desperately desires.

Who gives a fcuk!

It's an interview to save face. His name has been dragged through the mud and he was made to look a tit on national TV. Don't buy whatever he has to say. It'd be interesting to know whether Sam approached the Leader or if the Leader approached Sam.

It reads like a statement that was sent to the Leader by Sam, it doesn't read like Rich has rung him up and asked him questions. So it leads me to believe he's trying to recover some of his reputation.

Mentioning the £200,000 is a middle finger to the club for his public humiliation

The bit that made me laugh was when he talks about how, since he was at Wolves, he's always wanted to manage Shrewsbury. No offence to any STFC supporters, but as if anyone has been at Wolves in the last 15 years and wishing they were managing the Shrews.
