Yeah that’s how footballers operate �� Especially as he managed about four or five moves in succession where he miraculously found the “golden tit” - each one only when he had no choice I suppose. Even if this is the cast iron truth, it’s worth remembering the need to put in place a pretty severe cut to the wage bill, the position we’d have been in if we’d actually won the playoff final and how far into his contract with the club we were calling for a “proven striker” before accepting it could be Wright himself (he was catcalled onto the pitch in September by some). There is very rarely a smoking gun with these things.
