Pagl is right anyone at the moment is better than what we have. Fondop is our top scorer with 5 goals and can't even make the bench now. As a comparison Green for Salford has scored 2 in less than two and half games. |

Re: Scott Quigley
I do hope thAt Quigley is not signed as the answer to our present attacking problems. We need a Jim Steel/ Bernie Wright type of Centre Forward and Quigley has never performed like this. Now Danny Rowe is a different kettle of fish!

You probably already know now Pagl but Grant has already signed a contract until the end of season. No he isn't a striker he is an attacking midfield player I would drop Wright and play him there we lack creation in midfield, we need 2 decent strikers infront of him. Posted via mobile theme |

Re: Scott Quigley
Re Akil difficult one me. I totally agree that he is improving a great deal regarding control and distribution in midfield. He offers size muscle and energy which is essential. He has recently scored two very good headers. He has also missed chances when he should at least have hit the target. In my opinion he could become a very good player.

He has pace and power but is very poor positionally and the ball/game often pass him by. Ball control and passing wise then he is a long way from the standard required at CM and his effectiveness for us is powering forward into space with Walker/Summerfield covering. I think he would be more effective at RM in a 442 or just behind a front 2 with a more creative CM behind him. His composure/finishing is poor (although a great header against Salford) but probably no worse than others in the team. As a general comment if each and every one of the current starting 11 could improve their shots on target %age we would probably be another 10-12 goals better off by now but no-one seems to have improved all season not just Akil. |
