Honestly who are some of you expecting? We’re never gonna get the likes of Danny Rowe etc. We’ve got someone who’s proven he can score goals at this level. Give the lad a chance before you completely write him off.

If I had worked myself up to the point of genuinely believing we were signing Rowe and Moult I'm sure I'd be disappointed with Oswell and Stockton. Thankfully I remain of sound mind and think they are about as good a pair as we could reasonably hope for.

In regard to my comment I’m a HGV Driver and do a lot of work around Birkenhead docks. It’s not a rare occurrence for me to bump into a Tranmere fan on a daily basis.


The bloke I speak to said he’s watched Stockton from a young lad rising through the youth system to appearing for the reserves and breaking into the first team.

He fully admitted that Stockton is more than capable of scoring a fair amount of goals at our level. But also questioned his work rate and the fact he’s a decent sized lad he doesn’t tend to use it to his advantage or win much in the air.

To summarise he said Tollitt is the real deal out of the 2 players we’ve got from them and the one he’d want to try keep onto if he was us. However he didn’t disregard that Stockton could bag us a few goals if he finds some form.

Seems a big lad who will most likely cause problems, if he can help Oswell get the goals and chip in with a few along the way that'll do for me. Decent record for Tranmere when down here.

I usually wait to see how players perform over a few games before writing them off or otherwise!
