Carey was a fantastic player for us.
Unfortunately he was out of his depth in management and shouldn't have got the job in hindsight.

I knew when we played at Stockport with Carey in charge we were heading only one way.

Brian Carey was an excellent player for us but unfortunately was a poor manager.
In my opinion he lost it completely when we played Aston Villa at home in the league cup and he picked virtually the "reserve" team. This came after a hard fought victory v Port vale in the first round. I think from the Villa game on he lost the dressing room and we went down hill.
