I'm currently in Vietnam, and whilst on a tour the guide asked me whether I followed football. He was a big premier league fan (typical in the far east) but when I mentioned supporting my home town club, he asked where. I said Wrexham and he pleasantly surprised me by saying had heard of us (although he thought we were 3rd tier) . What is your experience of local knowledge of our club whilst on your travels?

what part of Vietnam are you in ?

They are mad for football here. It's becoming super popular. You want to see it when Vietnam play, it's crazy. Premier is becoming more and popluar all over SE Asia.

Non existent knowledge amongst the locals here but I'm trying to spread the gospel. Bought a local bar owner's son a replica shirt when I was home last but having Macron as the kit manufacturer doesn't help in rural France

I was once in a restaurant in Monte Mor in Brazil, which is about 4 hours north of Sao Paulo, and when the waiter heard I was from the UK he asked me what team I supported.

When I told him Wrexham, he said he was originally from Portugal and supported Porto. Not only had he heard of Wrexham, he had actually attended the game in Porto with his dad.

Said he couldn't remember much about the game itself, but was still very annoyed with the away goals rule!!

An Argentinian who was working with us and was listening to our conversation looked at us both and “I know nothing of these teams you are talking about”

Isn't there a part of Greece that has quite a few Greek Wrexham fans for some reason?

I was in Portugal on way back in passport control. They guy stared at my passport for what seemed a longer than usual time and said, commenting on my place of birth, "Wrexham? That is a very bad team for me". Turned out he was a Porto fan still lamenting us putting them out of Europe, this was only a couple of years ago so he clearly had a long memory!
