I agree, the wage cap will be set at around the £900-£1000 mark and that why we have notoriously struggled for quality.

Does the £200k include all costs, so transfer fees, wages and any other relocation, temporary housing costs etc?

Fee and wages for Oswell
Wages for Stockton
Wages for McGlashan
Wages for Kennedy
Wages for Luke Simpson
Wages for Tollit
Wages for Spyrou

Granted we probably weren't paying full wack for the loanees but it is still difficult to see how that sorry lot comes cheap. Quite why the £200k wasn't spent on 2 players who could make a real difference rather than a collection of bench warmers i don't know. Despite who the manager is this club continually goes for quantity over quality.

edit - i forgot the fee and wages spent on Bobby bloody Grant. No way did we not at least get very close to £200k

If it was not spent the question has to be asked why not.
Made available or spent?

That's our problem though we struggle to get the quality in. I was very surprised when Laighton signed for us.

Guessing, I am sure I’ll be closer to the mark than the £1800 a week boys.

BRYAN HUGHES is hoping to announce a "few" new signings by the end of the week.

Wrexham finished fourth in the National League in 2018-19 but were were beaten 1-0 in the play-off eliminator by Eastleigh and are now preparing for a 12th season in the fifth tier.

Despite challenging for promotion, the Reds only netted 58 goals in 46 league games - Shaun Pearson, Akil Wright, Mike Fondop and Stuart Beavon all struck six times to share the leading scorer award - and Hughes has said adding to his attacking options is a priority when it comes to bringing in fresh faces.

Hughes was giving little away about the incoming players but he could be in for a busy week if everything goes to plan and his targets agree terms.

"I have been busy since before the season ended, identifying more than anything the type of person that I want to bring to the club," said Hughes.

"There are things going on behind the scenes and hopefully I will have a few people signed up this week.

"We are definitely making progress and there are discussions going on behind the scenes. Like I have mentioned before, it takes a while.

"People have been waiting for the season to peter out to make sure they know which league they are in and people are under contract until the end of the month, sometimes later on as well."

Hughes currently has 16 players under contract for next season.

James Jennings, Rob Lainton, Mark Carrington, Doug Tharme and Paul Rutherford have signed new deals while nine players -

Christian Dibble, Manny Smith, Shaun Pearson, Jake Lawlor, Luke Young, Akil Wright, Mike Fondop, Jason Oswell and Bobby Grant - were already tied to the club.

Matty Sargent and Jack Thorn have penned their first professional contracts while fellow midfielder Luke Summerfield, who picked up a knee injury in the Eastleigh defeat on May 2, will be monitored by Wrexham's medical team before concluding talks over a new deal.

But Hughes remains hopeful that Summerfield will prove his fitness and agree to stay at The Racecourse for a second season.

"Luke got a medial injury in his knee in the first minute against Eastleigh, making a block tackle, so testament to the lad," said Hughes.

"Emotions are running high on a night like that and no-one wants to come off; that happened at the start and he didn't come off until the 50th minute.

"He tweaked a medial ligament but it is not as bad as what we first thought.

"I have given Luke a bit of time and we will get him assessed when he gets back off holiday by our physio department and hopefully he will be the last one over the line with regards to players that we have offered new contracts too.

"His rehab has already started and hopefully he will agree to his contract.

We signed 8 flippin players from January onwards, seriously the people running the football side of this club are clueless. We needed a small injection of real quality to take the final step, we threw a load of mud at the wall hoping that something would stick and inevitably failed to take that step forwards,
