Thought I remembered a £1 thing. So that must be for anyone that has ever been a member. I assume held in a trust type fund.

The £1 is just a nominal value. When it says it can’t be withdrawn, it means you can’t sell your share and get your £1 back, or take the share out and sell it to someone else.

This is the legal structure that co-operatives have to adhere to as outlined in the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts 1965 to 1978. Which bit of it do you think can be made better? If your argument is that you don’t want the club to be owned by a co-operative then that’s a different issue.

I guess if we opened up a share system then it would be a lot more complex.
Only just really thinking about it so not sure about the co-op argument. Would like to understand anything legally.
