Nev was always a "Junior" partner. Chipping in with small repayable loans to "help" the club out. Did this before Moss got involved.
Sold the garage site to Moss / the Village and took cover when the flack started flying.
Got away with it basically because he kept his head down and stayed quiet whilst counting his money.
Maybe he ran away when he knew what was being planned???

Allegedly, Moss and Dickens were equal partners in the deal to exit administration (both of them were in the executive box at anfield when we were relegated at Hereford). Dickens apparently ran the senior (1st team) operation whilst Moss oversaw the development squad (Academy: because his sons were in there). The alleged word was that Moss arrived at Colliers one day prior to relegation to find some senior players drinking cider and playing cards for money with the apprentices. It was alleged that he then had a fit and stormed into Denis Smiths office. This led to a confrontation with him Dickens and Smith which resulted in DS being fired. Ferguson wanted the vacant job and had his dad line-up several loans ready. The joint chairmen didn't want a United connection being staunch Liverpudlians and gave the job to Carey. You know the rest!

I have no insider knowledge but crowds were up last season, Ward money is there. I think the reason it is taking a bit longer to sign players is that we are going for ones at the upper end of the market.

It’s not taking longer to sign players, this is our standard m.o of the last few seasons.
