Bury gained promotion, they are in fantastic shape.

The only positives I can come up with about the wst ownership is the balancing of the books and paying the players wages on time, two extremely important aspects. That’s it though.

An extreme example! There are plenty of clubs doing just fine.

But..I don't necessarily want ownership change, it would be interesting to see if first of all a new WST and Club Board would make any difference. Both have been pretty much the same for a long time. Maybe too long.

Football wise I suspect that many on both boards are way out of their depth (see January circus etc) so I'd like to see that happen first. But its highly unlikely anytime soon unless they all walk away and change is forced that way. The apathy in the fan base is staggering, barely anyone votes so this is what we're stuck with.

If that didn't work then why not see who'd be interested in buying the club? We don't have to sell and all the necessary checks can be done and the sale does not have to be 100% of the club.

I don't see private ownership as the exception to the rule, or the devil in disguise as many still do, because we are the exception to the rule and so far its not worked.
Thanks Phil, nice to have a balanced discussion. I'd argue that it has worked in terms of saving the club we love. Certainly there are questions to be answered about how to move that into success on the pitch. January certainly didn't see the board cover themselves in glory.

Can't say I know what the answer is. If we had a private owner I'm not sure what would be put in place to guarantee that they had the clubs best interests at heart

Jesus wept it is boring and predictable seeing every thread turn into a discussion about the ownership model. Zzzzzzz

Love how not being bankrupt justifies 1 po game in 6 years. Constant issues keeping and attracting players and going through managers like they're going out of business. Fundamentally the football arm of this club has not been good enough for years. Barrow Gate sums it all up. I'd be prepared to accept it all if I didn't feel I was being lied to by the spin machine.

Please remember the model that was in place when we were relegated. The work done to redress the mess we were in had to involve some hard decisions.
Be careful who you tout your soul too there is always one taker at least.

To me apathy was when we used to regularly get under 3,000 in the FL even with travelling away fans.

We are all desperate to get back in the league and it is easy to criticise as it is taking longer than anyone ever imagined but if the club keep doing the right things then our chances of success will keep improving.
No I mean ownership apathy, as I said in my last post. Did you not read it?

Keep doing the right things? What like they did in January you mean?
Keep doing brain farts like that and we're going nowhere. But its not the mistakes that were made, it was the subsequent cover up, circling of wagons, lack of humility, zero apology or any admission that they cocked up. Just more bravado and bullshit spin.
Any fans with eyes open showed concern over the behaviour and self preservation tactics afterwards, which by the way will not be forgotten nor should it be. The fans who turn a blind eye and pretend everything is rosy, that's apathy or ignorance, take your pick.
