We have been crying out for a creative midfielder for god knows how long and yet still we haven't got one. Is it time for a Change???
three of our X players scored today in one game , Chesterfield 2 Barrow 2
Boden , Quigley , Fondop . !!!

Quigley got 3 in 28 games last season. He's scored 4 goals in 6 games this season. In total that ratio is still worse than when he played for us - Scoring 8 in 17 games. He also scored 0 goals in 14 games at Blackpool before signing for us. So his most profilic spell was with us, so he doesn't support the argument.

Maguire Drew didn't score today. He played 17 games for us scoring 3 goals. He's played 17 games for Orient and scored 4 goals. Pretty much the same record

Fondop has started well at Chesterfield, but he also started well at us (5 goals in his first 6 games). He then didn't score in the next 17 games for us. Went to Maindenhead and scored 1 goal in 11 games and now he's got 3 in 2 games for Chesterfield. So yeah his ratio is better than with us but certainly not prolific

Boden is the only exception scoring 25 goals in 51 games for Gateshead and Chesterfield as opposed to 3 in 34 for us.

So out of about 20 attacking players we've had over the two years Darlington has been here only one has significantly improved his goal scoring.

None of the strikers have really gone on to bigger and better things in their careers

Leaves the CF isolated and needing quick support from the 3 behind.
Young and Summerfield providing 2 in front of the back 4 - are they good enough for promotion?

Only 6 games gone so plenty of time for form and ‘gelling’

Hope BH will change any players where he can now see there not good enough (training or games).
i think MP was refering to a change in staff/personel ...not formation/tactics.

thats how i read his post anyhow.. is always tweeks we can make with tacts n formation.... but i think we do have the personel to do the job (can always improve before anybody comments) . but i do think we are good enough currently

Find me another professional side in the UK with a head coach working 1 day a week, one without any playing experience too! That’s before going into him having a say in selecting his new boss and subsequently preserving his own well paid role.

Regardless of tactics employed, this whole set up is a shambles and the board should act on it. He’s the only consistent over recent years which has presented the worst football in my 24 years watching the town.

If 1 day a week isnt enough to have a positive impact why is it enough to have a negative one? I'm no Darlington lover but it's too simplistic to pin every failure on him

Ask any manager and they’ll tell you that assistants / coaches are absolutely vital in doing their job!

It’s enough to have a negative one as each manager has adopted the FAW ethos of set up not to lose, it’s the FAW coaching way. And seeing as he got them the job, they’re unlikely to start upsetting him too much!

Do you think 1 day a week is enough?

My point was if you think he does nothing with the time he spends then how can you blame him for when we do badly or praise him when we do well. I dont know what he adds and am not necessarily defending him just pointing out a lack of logic in the argument
