Even if this statement is the beginning of the end, it's so out of touch with the fan base it's unreal. This was always going to annoy people. There's now talks of boycotting the game.

They know the fans have lost confidence in Hughes. If they truly intend to sack him, they'd have been better keeping quiet and only releasing a statement about his dismissal.

I can't get over how poor this is.

Sadly I think we do, the parallel's with FC United of Manchester are very concering. Legal action to get board members to leave their posts when voted off is all that remains now.
