Things don't have to get personal but the board members need to realise how personal the club is to thousands. In reality they should have stepped down but there was no hint of accepting any blame on Monday. After nearly ten years of failure, pure failure, with no attempt to make any changes to a failed structure, if they don't actively seek change after this season then I can only see things getting very ugly for them.

The only action to come out this thread appears to be to back John Mclintock this summer,, can we all agree on this action ?
Might be worth starting a thread for agreed actions going forward We need to be united on this , as most sensible posters on here seem to be in agreement

Re: Members meeting - club & WST board open to questions KO 7:30pm
The trust have done an excellent job of stabilising the club but we have to push on, instead we are in an alarming reverse.
This meeting was like ameture hour at a care home, residents repeating the same old words. It's clear there is no real plan, no desire for investment and no great alarm at the prospect of relegation. The main objective of the diminishing board is safeguarding their position. Gavin Jones said management of the club over the last 6 years has only been reactive (fire fighting). After 6 months negotiating the take over of the ground from the uni, they were surprised by work needed, and costs relating to upkeep . So what was going on for 6 months, what of due diligence, have we never employed a surveyor or even one of Pete's brickies for a reasonable idea of on going repair costs. I hate to disrespect a playing legend but Dixies position at the top table was embarrassing, there to deflect. Barry Horne was a competent appointment, but we now have an ex player 30 years out of touch, reminiscing old times just won't cut it. The club can no longer be run like a branch of Shropshire reds, but they will not accept help or investment that threatens their position. The club is run by volunteers who go above and beyond but by their own admission volunteers are drying up. That's because good will has been lost. Spencer's idea that reduced travel costs can off set lost funds from lower crowds is laughable. I'm not saying all the current board have to walk away completely but it's time to step back and let someone else take the reins. I am someone who has backed the trust but it is now time for a fresh approach. |

The training facility doesn’t need to be in the town, it simply needs to be accessible and offer the basic provisions required by anybody that is going to work - hot water, heating, somewhere to change, toilets, somewhere to eat.... I don’t get the obsession with developing a prime site in town that has numerous restrictions imposed on it, and little room to expand. I cannot believe we are training on a council field as a “professional club” for such a sustained period. |

Same for The Racecourse, Phil Salmon has done very well in that area, but you can't expect him to do all the work in it's upkeep. I can think of plenty that needs doing, a list needs drawing up and it being put to the fanbase. |

Need to get something for my £15 WST membership because I've got fck all else from it so far.[/QUOTE] Cheaper season ticket? As that's the reason most people are members. |
