Cymru League Transfer Windows

I posted it in the Jennings thread but is a topic in and of itself.

According to this article, the Cymru leagues transfer window opens on the 27th July and closes on the 16th October.

I'd imagine we're bound by the same rules, right? We're in a position where we can't sign anyone even if we want to?

The Welsh transfer windows have to be aligned with England so the Welsh clubs playing in England aren’t at a disadvantage.

Yes, but can't non-league clubs can sign people whenever where as we have to follow the windows? Transfer window in England is shut yet Stockport signed the Jennings brothers and there's been other activity in our league.

Or am I talking out of my backside?

Weren’t they out of contract , so effectively free agents ?

Just because Stockport have announced the signings, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re official yet. They won’t be able to sign James Jennings officially until the window opens as until then they won’t be able to get his international clearance via FIFA TMS.

Clubs can announce what they want on social media, but it doesn’t mean that everything is signed, completed, and the player on the payroll.

FIFA are strict on their definition of a Free Agent. To be a Free Agent a player must have previously been a Professional, and their previous contract must’ve expired before the previous window shut.

As the Jennings’ brothers contracts expired when the window was closed they’re not Free Agents so couldn’t sign outside of the window.

Connor Jennings will be able to sign as there is no transfer window for the national league. James will need international clearance but that will be a formality.
