It would also completely demoralise the fanbase keeping him on.

In their shoes, I get that. I get why they won't straight away. But, they ain't daft and you don't get to their position in life by suffering fools. Interesting times.

Notwithstanding the fact that Keates has lost the fans, he knows he's going at the end of the season, is he going to motivate the team, most of whom are only on contracts until the season's end?
Best get the new guy in so he can see the calibre of what he's got to work with and give the players a chance to work for the new manager to improve their chances of a contract next season.

We are 1 point off the play offs, with half the season to go. There is loads of time for a new manager to turn things around.

I'm desperate for him to go, but if there is a guarantee he's gone at the end of the season, I could just about live with it. He's truly one of the worst manager's I've had the misfortune to watch.

There isn't one good reason to keep him on and plenty to get rid of him.

Get a new man in and give him a few months to assess the squad and get to grips with the league with the clear expectation that we expect a strong promotion challenge next season.
