I read recently that it was estimated that Cardiff’s spell in the premier league benefitted the economy of the city to the tune of £80m.
OK, the premiership is a long way off for us, but it does go to show that a successful football team can have a significant impact on the local economy in general. |

Wrexham would be better off basing its economy around the pubs, restaurants and culture going forward and the football club will have a huge part to play. I believe a good deal of funding has already been proposed to help pubs in the town centre succeed, of at least I'm sure I read that on wrexham.com. |
