Re: Notts County reaction
First half their manager got it spot on exposing our full backs and being overrun in midfield. However they only had a few chances from outside the box and we had Youngs chance and the deflected shot.
Second half was all us without creating much bar a few headed chances. All in all it was a very close game but we always seem to fall short in these close games. I think I’d prefer Hartlepool away than Notts County if we make the play offs. Posted via mobile theme |

Re: Notts County reaction
Gave them too much time and space first-half, but we could not keep the ball and just lumped it forward. Better second-half but our creativity and finishing around the box is poor against better teams.
Must regroup to beat KL and hope for a point at D&R. Overall, Keates tactics are too defensive early on, which cost us dear.

Re: Notts County reaction
Unfortunately I don't think it's a case of bottling it, reality is that if we get to the play offs there will be 4 or 5 teams with better players/squads. I don't think it's down to effort or heart, but purely down to quality. You look at the games against Hartlepool, Torquay, Chesterfield, Notts County etc we have been outplayed and hardly had an attempt at goal. Changing manager will help, but changing players will have far bigger impact.

Re: Notts County reaction
Hindsight is wonderful but they bossed the midfield, got control, forced our wing backs to defend and scored that vital first goal. Lainton was again suspect conceding from long range but we had lost our shape after a better little spell and no one was there to put pressure on the ball. Without Harris, it's a difficult one as Jarvis did alot of good things but we lose the best of Davies who needs freedom to play and is currently not suited to play that bit deeper and Young isn't suited to being the midfield enforcer.

Thought we played better second half by picking up 2nd balls and pressing...though a good striker would have hit the target at least on those headers....Angus judgement on pass again let's him down ..That was a guilt edge chance to equalise and you only get so many in a game Need to throw it into getting some quality uptop..Everytime Harris is out we lose the midfield battle..Need someone strong in there next season |
