Jack Mackreth came for a fee. Obviously didn’t work out, but he’d done ok in the EFL previously. I’m sure, just like like Shaun Harvey did, the WST board had several sleepless nights, before going to do their day job!

I would say it depends which way you look at it Benno scored 47 goals in his last season and the season before 39 goals in our last five seasons our top scorer has scored a combined total of 49 goals so was it good business?

Surely one of the if not the best ever fee paid in respect of service and where we ended up, was the then club record paid to Arsenal to bring back Arfon Griffiths..


Though remembered for his youth policy john Neal made some good signings with then record buys..brian tinnion 12k
Mel sutton 15k
To be honest cant recall any purchase by Neal being deemed a dud buy...
Was it Alvin William's or Neal who bought the English international ray charnley
