Default Stockport County (H) FA Trophy Semi-Final - T's & P's

Some have dismissed this game as an irrelevant distraction to the main aim of promotion. I disagree.

The game offers us the opportunity to see just how good they are and, if we beat them, dent their confidence gained by an impressive and lengthy list of wins. I think it likely that we will play our strongest possible team as R&R will want a day at Wembley for the fans, the documentary, and for friends and family. But can we do it?

Rapidly forgetting last week's defensive nightmare, and instead focusing on the resolution and scoring power amongst the squad, I think it is possible. But, to do so, we will have to be focused from the off. Most fans' fears will be whether Dibble starts and if JD is fit enough to risk. Unless Camp is really sharp it seems highly likely that Dibble will be in goal. Personally, I would put JD on the bench and start with either Jarvis or McAlinden just behind Mullin and Palmer.

We may not get a full ground tomorrow, but there should still be a good level of noise generated. Will it be a tight, edgy game? Or an open game with lots of goals? It will be interesting to see how PP approaches this one.

WXM 2 Stockport 1

Mullin and J Jones

Think its going to be a very tight game. Wouldn't start with JD if he isn't fit as we have a lot of games coming up in a short space of time. Would look at Jarvis in for him.

Honestly think it will be one goal in it and i don't know which way its going to go.

Winning the Mickey mouse game, then blowing the league match would be a proper Wrexham thing.

Really hope Camp is in net. Dibble looked shot of confidence on Saturday and I think Parky needs to be ruthless and use this as his chance to get Camp in goal.

Good chance for him to get some match sharpness against a decent side.

Other than that I hope we put a strong side out, but with an eye on Tuesday, which is a more important game.

Palmer and Mullin could do with some rest, but I don't think the likes of Ponticelli and Thomas would cause Stockport problems.

Also think Jordan isn't quite right yet. His two goals aside, he looked a bit below his usual level on Saturday, I'd rest him for Tuesday.

Balancing act for Parky as a trip to Wembley would be great but not at the expense of League form.

Think Parkinson said Camp is not up to it yet, and Davies is still struggling with a injury.

If Dibbles confidence isn't right and camp isn't fit, give the young lad a go.

He'll never get experience if we don't play him and at the end of the day it's no big deal if we don't win.

no way davies should play, and we have reasonable deputies for him. i'd like palmer and mullin not to play but i don't think we take that risk.

Really not bothered if we lose, a final would just be another unwanted distraction.
