After Saturday’s crushing defeat of Torquay, the mighty Red Army descends on NE Manchester this weekend, provided it negotiates the M56 detour!

We are still a Jekyll & Hyde team, when our away timidity enables teams to get into the game. Will PP again play it cautiously or will he unleash our more effective pressing game? I imagine McAlinden will be on the bench to provide cover now Mendy is out, but cannot foresee PP making any other changes.

Oldham have suffered from NL relegation syndrome and found life on the margins difficult. The 5-3 LDV victory is my last memory of the Latics, and there must be a reasonable chance of such an exciting repeat. My original prediction was a draw, but I see no reason why we shouldn’t go there looking for a win. 1-0 would suffice!

Standard really, win the midfield battle, our wing backs will be on the front foot and we win the game.

Lose that battle and it will be yet another long away day chewing your nails where their midfield have a free run at our back 3. Problem is, what are we going to do any different to the other away games where get pushed back because we are so timid in that crucial midfield ?
