Re: Blythe Ratings
Would we? We were 1-0 down at the time and a goal would have put us back in it. The second goal nailed the coffin and made a comeback impossible. Given the quality over the rest of the pitch, having Cameron Belford Mark II in goal means we are effectively playing with 10. Almost every shot on goal results in a goal.

My biggest gripe was we failed to manage the game after going 1 nil up. Tozer was far too lacklustre and the midfield failed to set any sort of tempo apart from a brief spell before halftime. Hossanah didn’t offer a lot going forward down the right. Thought Hayden and O Connor played reasonably well - TOC was a big improvement on Max. Again, I’m a bit lost with the Howard criticism. Was he really that bad? I thought generally he did quite well. Disappointing performance but let’s not pretend we should be sidestepping every side we play… it was a big home game for them, they didn’t stop for 90mins and deserved a draw. |

Re: Blythe Ratings
Palmer would have slotted home that winner if he had confidence in our keeper.

Re: Blythe Ratings
What a long day that was.
Howard 6 - Kept us in the game tbh. Lainton is undoubtedly better however Howard gets unfairly over criticised. Hosannah 3 - As per McFadzean - sat back which made us a deep 5-32 rather than 3-5-2. McFadzean 3 - He’s just poor isn’t he? A left back who can’t play LWB. Tozer 3 - Hoofed it at every opportunity. Not as bad as everyone is saying though IMO. Hayden 5- Won his duels however far too many panicked clearances straight to their CB. O’Connor 3 - Don’t even know. He’s a mystery isn’t he? I don’t know where his best position is - saying that, it’s hard to judge a player who hasn’t played a run of games in nearly a year of being here. Jones 3 - Anonymous in another away game. Shocker. Davies 3 - See above. MUST start to grab games by the scruff of the neck. He’s 24 now so is old enough. Young 4 - Best of the 3 but that doesn’t take much. Dalby 3 - Hit the crossbar but really struggled. Hard to judge when he was on his own up top - Lee doesn’t work up front with Dalby. Start Dalby and Mullin on Tuesday. Lee 4 - Glimpses of wuality but he just didn’t work up too with Dalby. No chemistry. |
