After the recent struggles against plucky Blyth Spartans we are now back to our bread & butter job at no nonsense Boreham Wood. They have gotten off to a good start, albeit probably better on the road as their home form is W2 D2 L2 with a GD of zero. We have a good history against them so, despite our recent defensive wobbles and non-combative midfield, we should go there thinking we can get a result. But thinking and doing are too separate things, as we have read on the front pages of our Daily Rag this week!

PP states he’ll use his full squad over the next few weeks as we face 2 games a week until 12 Nov. I hope he does because there are some worrying signs of fatigue starting to creep in on top of some injuries.

Furthermore, there are worrying signs that we are not as mentally strong as we need to be. Howard and Hayden have both struggled to effectively do the basics of late. This must be corrected asap, as indecision breeds chaos in the defence, which leads to our giving away silly goals.

I think most fans agree that PP’s ‘preferred midfield’ of Young/Jones/Davies is not good enough, and that we lack creativity whenever Lee is not playing. Thankfully, Mullin and Palmer keep us in games even when the service to them is poor or non-existent.

Lots of issues for PP to resolve, and another tough game for the players to master. We’ll soon see if we have what it takes to win this league and get back into the EFL. But as we saw against those Greek warriors, no team will roll over and hand victory to R&R on a plate. If we are to be champions we must get our act together and win these games.

Got to be honest and say this one worries me. Well it is an away game!

We need to start to see evidence that PP is watching the same games as us and addresses the midfield being overrun away from home. So far he hasn't or shown signs of it.

Defence looks shoogly too at the moment and this is one of our hardest away games so........

Given our recent performances and especially second half on Tuesday I can see us getting turned over. If we do it means we can only lose 3 more games between now and May as the league winners won’t lose more than 6 games all season imo.

We've played 2 of the current top 7 and lost them both. We can't afford a hat-trick here.

Our form is very patchy, even within a game. We look like champions for 45 minutes and relegation fodder the next 45

PP needs to find the solution within the squad to make this work because this league is very unforgiving as we know too well. I think we are a midfielder short still. I'd look to get one in on loan while TOC gets himself up to speed (or not) because he looks nowhere near right now.Chuck him in Saturday and we'll get murdered he's that slow. So we go with the trusted 3 who will get overrun.

LWB is a concern. I'd go with Hosannah. McAlinden is useless there and McFadzean can't defend. Praying Mendy returns soon.

Defence (oh dear), what has happened. Tunnicliffe looks like he's injured Tozer which despite his detractors will weaken us even further. If Tozer is fit I'd put Tunnicliffe at LCB. If not ,Tunnicliffe at CB with Max at LCB and hope for the best because the lad is being targeted.

Howard is a mistake waiting to happen and every low shot near the corner is a goal. We need Lainton back in the next few weeks or a new keeper on loan.

If ever there was a game for Elliott Lee this is it. They are a very physical side and have two man-mountains at centre back who dwarfed Ollie Palmer in May's game and completely nullified Tozer's throws.

In May we only looked like scoring when Hosannah tore their left back (yes that one) a new one down the right side and put low crosses inbetween keeper and their CBs.

Hoofs, crosses, big diagonals, throwsers just ain't gonna cut it. We have to be cute and play football to beat this lot. Lee playing just in front of them and getting their defence turned could be the key to breaking them down.

The concern is over defence. Last season Tyler French's brain fart cost us dearly. Aaron Hayden seems to have forgotten how to head a ball but the concern is at left back. Put McFadzean on a lead for this one as we can't afford for him to be continuously out of position.

Tozer missing this one could be a blessing in disguise. His throws won't work v this lot and Tunni's aggressiveness could help us to a clean sheet. If we get one we'll win.

A big game given that we've lost away to both of our closest rivals. Third time lucky.

Good view from the stand which is first come first served and around 400 seats. Get there early to bagsie one. Flat terrace behind the goal.

The Weatherspoons pub the Hart & Spool is closest to be ground and is the best of a very, very bad bunch of pubs.

A sneaky 1-0 win.
