Was talking to someone last night, saying the throw in's and corners were not producing much, then up pops Hayden with a brilliant header.

Great pro, glad he's one of ours.
I was thinking the same we definitely need some height in midfield at times.

I too thought most of our deliveries into the box were poor, but Hayden's goal was a great exception.

The ref was correct to award their penalty, but he missed so much of Halifax's crude tactics. Their centre-back could have been a line-backer in the NFL!

His feet are nowhere near quick enough to operate in the tight spaces of midfield

He's great in his current role. Stick him in midfield and his not so good passing will let him down. Overall, he is one of our best players exactly where he is.

Yep far too many championship manager fans on here constantly trying to suggest bonkers position changes

We went years without a decent corner taker, used to frustrate me a lot.

Young is a master at it for this level.

To reference the popular analogy, Hayden in midfield would be like trying to cross the Irish sea in a Rolls Royce. Nice car, but that's not what it's designed to do.

Remember Chesterfield away this season when mysteriously our club captain was left out ? We had a succession of corners in the second half which all came to nothing. I commented at the time that we missed Young only to receive derision as he was/is 'NLN standard' and 'Never goes forward'
I still maintain that ,for me, he is still deserving of a place in the side. Pretenders such as TOC have come and gone as none can match his workrate and dead ball delivery.

As for AH - he can leap like a young salmon and is a real offensive asset - i would just like him to spend time with Tunnicliffe learning the basics of defending.
