My thoughts…you have been playing too much Football Manager. This is the real world where players drop crockery on their feet in the kitchen and get groin strains in the boudoir.

IMHO we are playing games at a higher pace and for a longer period of time due to the improved fitness so do we run a risk of more injuries because of that?

It's an interesting one - in the Leeds documentary they always seemed to have injury issues that were put down to Bielsa's high tempo/high press style of play. Without knowing the specifics of each injury to each player we're always going to be speculating from the outside however...

Part of the problem is that footballers (like all modern professional athletes) push themselves to the limits and sometimes beyond.
I don't think you see many players being 'carried' in the modern game.
You're all in or you're out! Although I'm sure that some notable exceptions to this can be provided
I also wonder what role the real time medical data that they collect during games plays in all of this. There's no hiding place. If the data says you can do more then you'll be under great pressure to do it, especially in clubs going for promotion.
Anyway, as others on here say, I suspect we are no more susceptible to injuries than other leading clubs, but I don't have any data to support that.
