Howard does the basics and despite a poor showing last night, his distribution is generally better than Rob Lainton. Given Lainton’s horrendous injury record, you can understand PP sticking with Howard. My only real criticism is he’s a bit slow moving when the ball is heading for the corners, but is Lainton that much better? He was good at Sheff, but awful against Alty. Howard wasn’t to blame for either goal last night.

People seem to talk about Lainton as if he’s a modern day Peter Schmicheal. He’s a good keeper in the 5th tier and has made his share of howlers over the years. He looked good in an extremely poor Wrexham side!

I don’t think either of them would be good enough if we hopefully gain promotion.

Yep. GK should be one of the 1st positions looked at in the summer. Clean sweep and spend big.

It was a difficult game for a few players last night and the manager acknowledges there was a lack of quality in the game. I'm just hoping it's a one off and most likely it is.
Their manager knows the score when his teams come to the Racecourse, he knows when we are on top of the game in important game there is no better atmosphere but he also knows if he disrupts our play with borderline tackles and edge the game the home crowd go the other way and gets on top the players.
As much I dislike the man he got it right on both counts, on and off the pitch.

Barring Lainton smashing it directly into the stands every time he gets the ball I cant see how much worse his distribution can be compared to Howard.

This. Young is all about energy and harassing the opposition would also like to see him swap roles with Cannon while TOC is out

Best place for young is the bench. Jones is far more effective and covers more ground.

Its one of Young and Jones to run around, then one of Davies and Lee, then one of Cannon and Toc holding.
