I think for us after coming so close last season and building on last season’s squad we were expecting to be front running this season.

However, I think our points tally is better than we could have expected.

The big surprise is Notts County. I’m not sure how much they spent and how many new players they brought in during the summer, but their upturn in form and consistency has been remarkable.

It seems it’s definitely going to go down to the wire, and may the best team win as long as it’s us😊.

I didn’t know who Langstaff was 12 months ago and now he’s giving me nightmares.

They’ve done a really good job leading the way. When we’ve put pressure on them they’ve responded. They’re in a supposed tricky run of fixtures and they’re finishing matches strongly.

What’s not helped us is every time we’ve got close to them, they’ve played a couple of extra games and put points on the board whilst we’ve been flogging our team against Championship teams.

However, by the 7th March, we’d have both played the same amount of games and then it’s the sprint for the line.

We basically burnt ourselves out last season in the sprint because we had points to make up. Hopefully it’s not the same this season.

Indeed, it's difficult to be objective with the points totals we are seeing. 2.42 per game over 30+ games is just unbelievable for both clubs.

In any 'normal' season we would have this title sewn up with about 5 games left but it will go to the wire now. Notts have over performed to a level that's probably surprising even them. This level was expected of Wrexham.

I think both teams are pushing each other to the limit. If either side was 10 points clear the odd draw is fine but this isn't the case so every point is like gold.

You think the pressure has to tell on someone sooner or later. We haven't even got to the traditional "run in" stage of 10 games to go yet but the pressure feels like there's 3 games left.

As a Wrexham fan my hope/belief is that the experience of our League One/Two quality players, many of whom know what it takes to win promotion and a manager who's achieved 3 EFL promotions will see us over the line but our injury list is the fear. We are chopping and changing defence and midfield every game which obviously upsets our rhythm.

They've had very few injuries in comparison so will be interesting if they can maintain 2.4ppg with a few players missing for weeks/months like we have.

All to play for

Notts County are very good and relentless. Langstaff is a natural goal scorer and is in incredible form at the moment. However, I just watch the highlights of their game v Yeovil and they were very lucky indeed with a score line that flattered them greatly. Arguably they would have been a few goals behind at halftime against a better strike force. The defence looked really dodgy at times and the Yeovil goal was due to an amazing mix up between the goalie and central defender (who looked ropey on a few occasions from the little I saw).

They are very good, but will drop points soon. Its going to go down to the wire.

I think Notts' biggest signing was their manager (and maybe Langstaff a little too). Our manager was our biggest signing last season too. Obviously, I don't see many of your games but from what I saw last season and what I've seen this, it's yours that's your weak link in my opinion. I realise that might sound daft when you're on track for 100+ points but he should have your squad playing better than they are. There's no way you should concede as many as you do against poor teams. We conceded 38 last season including the terrible spell under Rusk, you've conceded 30 already and there are an awful lot of poor teams in that league.

The pace you and Notts are setting is incredible and way ahead of where we were at this point last season but if you fail this time, it's obvious to me where the buck stops.

I watched the Yeovil club highlights and, even accounting for bias, you have to say that Notts were extremely flattered by that score. To their credit, several Notts fans on here have said the same. And a real howler from their goalie to add to several others that I've seen from him - we are not alone
Not surprisingly, nerves are showing all around on this early run in.

I think one of our hardest games will be Bromley away.
They always try to nullify us tactically and injuries seem to happen there.

I have to say Notts are proving a lot of us, myself included, wrong as a lot of us thought they’d eventually fade. Personally I can’t call the title right now, if we come out of this run of fixtures until Southend (H) clean and still incharge I think we’ll squeak it.

Two proper clubs that both deserve promotion over anyone else.
