Despite us being Notts County and them playing at the City Ground, we play in the city and they play in the county. Ask Back of the Kop, he knows.
I'd say it's more like 90% them and 10% us, or maybe even 95/5.

In Nottingham, you're a Forest fan by default, unless you aren't. So it's not just those who go to games and actively support the club, it's everyone else.

Nottingham is full of people who 'support' Forest but never go to games. They might tune in to watch them on TV if they get to a cup or playoff final, and they'll certainly turn up in the market square to bask in the glory when they get promoted, but that's about it.

Most Notts fans who live in Nottingham go to games if they can. At least that's my experience.

I saw it first on Facebook and laughed at some of the football fans thinking it was true ! Never thought Natuonal league fans would take it seriously so was surprised how much credibility was given to the story on that forum !

I understand the numbers feel like that at times, and maybe closer to the reality than I might think.

However its likely to feel like like that when they are in the premiership after having their best year in about 20+ plus years and we are at the lowest point in the clubs history. If they got relegated this season and stayed down for a while and we got back to back promotion (just for arguments sake), you will be surprised how many of those so called Forest fans who are Forest fans by default will now have a another choice on their hands.

In exactly the same way their glory years of Europeans cups took them from a very average support to being very well supported. You have the die hards who will support their club regardless (which applies to virtually all Notts fans and is probably representative of all the fans in this whole league to be honest, why else would be watch this level of football ), but you will be surprised how many people choose to go to Forest just because its the better standard of football and nothing else. The closer the gap is the less that works in their favour and more would be tempted to go to Notts games.

The idea that any club has attendances which can't grow and reduce is inaccurate. I remember them at their worst in League 1 about 15 years ago, i think they got as low as around 15k some games if I remember rightly, which is still pretty good for that league but not by their own standards. Now imagine them dropping further and being in the National league for 5 seasons ( or 15 or so in Wrexhams case). Would soon find out how well supported they are then.
