He is irreplaceable and this spell without him is proof of that. We just don't have a decent alternative, partly because he is so good that any viable alternative wouldn't want to sign to just sit on the bench.

I've see this argument a lot.

We're not in the Conference anymore, and considering the number of subs it's more a team game than ever. Besides Mullin will not be appearing soon, and when he does it's going to have to be gradual.

Pay for someone, and pay that someone enough and they will come. It's clear we've struggled in the transfer market trying to land a striker. I don't see teams giving-up on inflating prices, particularly considering our profile. Being famous is double-edged. It'll be worst in January.

Much depends on how much Rob and Ryan want to rise quickly.

Also, not one to normally moan about a ref, but he was truly dire, completely out of his depth, allowed their time wasting, some absolutely shocking decisions and THAT penalty. Wow.

Never a penalty, we were out battled battled/muscled first half better second possibly could have won. Dalby and Bickerstaff nowhere near this standard, poor penalties from Young and Jones ah well we must smash Tranmere Saturday to lift morale.

Ultimately decided by the penalty decision in the first couple of minutes.

But too many ‘squad’ players didn’t take their chance, in some cases literally.

Alongside the Lino on the MRS who would wait for the referee to signal a throw in either way regardless of how obvious the decision was. Bizarre!

I'm posting this based on the radio commentary, so my thoughts could change when I see some video.
But, we should have won, but yet again didn’t!
I know the unfair penalty ultimately cost us, but not taking our chances is become a trend unfortunately.
On the positive side, in the grand scheme of things this result doesn't really matter, and our overall play says that we're really close to where we need to be.
Hopefully news of a striker coming in is real. And hopefully he's worth it

Painful watching Dalby tonight. I like the lad but he’s out of his depth at this level.

We need a quality striker (no it doesn’t have to be Mullin level or it’d cost millions) and midfielder.
