Default Salford City (A) - T's & P's

The Transfer Window has shut. But have we climbed to the heights of Everest or are we stuck with a drafty old single-pane fenster?

Our away form has become rather worrying. From our last 7 EFL2 and FA Cup games our form is W2 D1 L4, so we need to reverse the trend and start winning on the road. So, will PP play Bolton and Marriott from the off and, if he does, will they make the required improvement?

Salford's home form isn't too good (W2 D4 L7 +17 -28 GD -11), hence why they are at a lowly 19th. But they recently had a good win against Crewe Alex and we struggled against lowly Newport County, albeit we went off the Boyle quite quickly when he lost his head.

So, we don't need to see flowing football -- which must now wait until 2024/25 -- but we do need to see a professional effort where we cut out the mistakes and take our chances better. A 1-0 win on the road is as good as a 4-0 home win; so let's keep it tight at the back and keep the ball on the ground. Regardless of Salford's recent, apparent improvement, they won't present the challenge we faced at Blackburn Rovers.

A Top-3 finish is the aim. To achieve this we must start winning away from the Racecourse, and this represents a great opportunity to refocus and prove we are truly good enough. It ain't in the bag yet!

Salford City 1 WXM 2

Marriott gets a brace from the off!

I think we’ll be up for this after 2 defeats on the bounce. Also Salford have a poor home record, so if we’re going to improve our away wins column then this is the place to do it - 2-1 Wrexham.

The Manchester Reds are meeting in the Nags Head on Jackson’s row (just off Deangate) from 12pm tomorrow. If any Reds are in Manc pre match pop in and join us for a pint. Transport to the ground is rubbish so it’ll be cabs to the game from there

Will be tough, we have lost the last 3 away matches. Time for Parky to earn his corn.

Never confident away and tomorrow's no different.

do 3 losses in a row mean its a crisis?

If so this becomes a must win game.

I think new manager bounce for Salford and a 2-1 loss.
