I have seen this earlier in the week and really don't know why they put scheduled works on a matchday weekend now. I am sure they must plan so far in advance but a capacity of 12.5k plus must have better communication with public transport and the club.

And that ain't happening anytime soon..
I believe there’s subsidence issues on gresford bank which would make the project costs rocket , so they’ve gone for the cheaper option of just doubling the line on the nice flat easy bits

The train situation really does need improving if we continue our march up the leagues. If we get to the Championship with a greater capacity within the ground the infrastructure just wouldn’t be enough to cope. Based on the sustainability/environmental aspects of the clubs agenda I definitely think it should be investigated to see what could be done to improve connectivity and capacity on Match days. The parking situation around the ground isn’t great so encouraging fans to use the train should be something that the club champion. A direct train to/from Birmingham for example put on to arrive on match days only at say 13.30pm with return departing at 6pm based on a 3pm kick off would help supporters both home and away get to Cae Ras in a much smoother manner and would remove a large number of cars from around the ground IMO. If the service was better the club may also be able to use the train rather than bus or plane for away travel. A case really can be made.

Wrexham.Com reporting today that Welsh Govt are increasing rail fares by 4.9% in order to invest in rail in South Wales.

It's really frustrating and very badly advertised - it's only because I was looking at a journey planner I noticed it. But it's almost impossible on the Transport for Wales website to work out what is happening.

Will the rail replacement bus be a single coach to replace a full train of football supporters? Who knows!

We normally go to a restaurant in town after a match and spend money in a few places but we'll just have to go straight to the station and hope to get a train.

Last year some rail replacement buses didn't turn up, others were just mini buses, it was crap. Recently I was in Wrexham when a match wasn't on and there were rail replacement buses, the organisation was much better. There was someone from TfW present who was talking to passengers, telling them which bus was their's, telling the bus drivers when to leave. They were also checking that people had tickets and holding the bus up while some got tickets. Great improvement on last years chaos.

You shouldn't have to hope for the best, just look for the hi-viz wearing clipboard wielding TfW worker at the station and check what's happening, you could do this before the match.

The Birmingham train arrives in Wrexham at 13.02 on a Saturday and departs 17.40 to Birmingham. Sometimes there are only 2 coaches which is a nightmare. What annoyes me is the closure of entrances which are kept open on other occasions. People who struggle to walk are made to go the long way round due to health and safety.

There is never more than 2 carriages. It’s what TfW do - 2 carriages.
