I mean Stevenage are competing for the play offs, so while it would be a step up, I think there is also a danger of overestimating the gap.

Not sure given we were going to throw 500k at Armstrong. The only thing that makes me think you could be on to something is our failure to get the lad from Rotherham.

Perhaps he was told he should be comfortably achieving promotion with the team we already had.

I'm torn on it. I love him for bringing us back to the EFL and he obviously has a lot of credit in the bank. I think I've seen enough this season though to see his limitations. The squad we've built has quality but its one dimensional and probably has too much experience and not enough youth and pace. If we're lucky enough to get to L1 I'm convinced he will come unstuck, we're just too predictable

Barring a complete collapse of the magnitude of what happened when Dean Keates left the first time, I don't believe there is any circumstance we change the manager.

That is true, but the top 6 tends to be recently relegated Championship teams as a general rule of thumb.

A poor L1 team that should have comfortably beat us was Shrewsbury, which shows the step up.

Generally the gap isn't that big. The difference in League One is the teams at the top have one or two real quality players up top that punish you for every mistake

The football itself isn't that much better. Still loads of hoofball

Only reason it's not going well at Stoke is because it's Stoke. Alternative choice would've been ex-Luton Nathan Jones but he's only recently moved to Charlton and they're going to be dangerous next season
Well at least a few names thrown in the hat.

Still find it odd that we are sitting in an automatic promotion place at the business and of the season and the discussion is about replacing the manager.

Still each to their own.

There is part of me that thinks Parky might get until next season provided we get close. R&R have never sacked a manager, so we don't know what it takes for a manager to be sacked under their watch.

I think if we don't go up Parky gets one more window. Might not be the most popular decision but I think it'll be like the National League where you get one chance but if you fail twice you're out.

However at the moment we are still 3rd. We're in a very good position, we just need to shape up. We have the talent.

Agreed. Parky is the only game in town this season. He has a chance to take us up automatic and then a second chance in the play offs. If he doesn’t take either then that’s the time to ask the question.
