We need to make that one big signing of a striker / flair player who can change games to generate an injection of interest in prolonging sales. However, I still think we are missing a trick 'massively' in not promoting the availability of season tickets as we have in the past. I have renewed as a previous ST holder and WST member but the club have never made contact with me (or others) to offer the product - and I'm a 'renewal' so what hope have we for potential new season ticket holders.

A big billboard on the back of the Mold Road stand with an image of Dean Keates and a caption 'Your club needs you ! season tickets now available' and reproduce in local press etc. We need to formulate a long term strategy perhaps doing discounts for local youth football clubs - it's all about putting bums on seats and getting the cash in the till asap. It appears we just wait for the punters to turn up in hope. Ultimately the product on the pitch will dictate the level of sales - perhaps last season did more damage than we realise.

A fair assessment, for what it would cost to publicise it, it has to be worth it. We should have been getting sponsorship to advertise it so then it doesn't cost us anything.

A goal scoring frontman would of been enough to bring in a few hundred as a boost, free advertising when you think about it as we needed 2 or even 3 of them anyway. Keates and Co can then push for sales. Personally I don't think banners help from my Experiance, either they want a ticket or they don't only signing good players can make a differeance. Our main problem was we had very few good players in to start with so the floating fans needed convinincing and quick, I purchased this year although I never bothered last season due to such poor signings from Mills. This year I had to make a decision before going away as the deadline was while I'm on holiday.

The early bird prices are a loyalty bonus, not I'll buy one if I see the players I want.
If we are successful on the field we will generate more cash from pay on the gate or full price ST's.
Whilst ST sales can help with finances through the summer, they effectively reduce the overall income, requiring higher crowds to break even.

Surely, running a proper business the price of the early bird tickets should be set at a price to break even, based on an estimate of season ticket sales in the previous year.
If you set the level too low and then hope that higher crowds will allow you to break even, in my opinion is a recipe for disaster.
Maybe this is one reason for us not being able to compete with the higher budget teams in quality of personnel.

Simple economics

Season tickets = money for the club NOW instead of in dribs and drabs throughout the season.

Money NOW = the club can afford to commit to new players and contracts now, knowing that their wages are already in the bank.

Money every two weeks can go down as well as up (as attendances change) and if went down it would make signing players much more risky now as we might not be able to afford to pay their wages if gates fell.

If you want a good squad, buy your season ticket now!

With rumours of a striker signing early next week, it maybe enough to sway some wavering fans to buy a season ticket especially if they feel they are getting a bargain with the early bird price.Lots of people away on holiday this week who maybe didn't think it was worth it may change their minds?

Even Simpler Economics. Based on 2000 Adults at Max price.
1000 Adult Season Tickets @ £322 / 26 =£12,385
1000 Adults - Pay on Gate @£20 = £20,000 Total £32,385.

Alternative.
1200 Adult ST's @£322 / 26 = £14,861
800 Adults - Pay on gate @ £20 =£16,000 Total £30,861

Shortfall of £1524 per game x 26 = £39,624 or one less player.

The budget is based on a predicted income for the season, therefore the more pay on the gate fans means a healthier budget.

Yes that is fine if everyone turns up regularly, but despite our gates holding up last season, there were games where it was very sparse in the GUS. With a ST less people are likely to give games a miss because of other attractions and because the money is paid up front and not paying on the day, people are more likely to spend a few quid more at games i. e. food, drink, 50/50 etc

What it really comes down to is having an attractive and hopefully successful team that fans want to watch.
If we get that, the rest is irrelevant.
