Rutherford in a front 3 would be utterly pointless, if we play a front 3 every player has to score at least 10 or more goals each and create. Has Rutherford ever done this in his career? No is the answer

Not sure Hurst has ever played right wing. He's played right back, central midfield and he played in the no.10 position when he scored goals for Torquay apparently.

I admire your positivity sir. With 2 goalies we'll never concede.

Didn't Danny wright score 8 in a front three in 12-13. He was amazing too.

Rutherford is no Danny wright, but for me the success of the front three will depend on the guy down the middle.

Besides the poster you replied to said we need 1 wide man, so Rutherford can be on the bench with Holroyd and the one wide man starting.

To be pointlessly negative for a second, there is a difference between that season (three out of four from Wright, Speight, Pogba and Morrell, all of whom got a reasonable share of goals) and the contribution you'd get from Rutherford in that position. He's alright but I'd want him working from wider or deeper, as one of a front three it's going to be a bit blunt. Plus the success of the 98 point front three was that any could be central or wide, we've never looked in the same league with clearly defined roles in that three which restrict the movement.

Significant number of players to come in yet in all positions (bar the keeper) - only one recognized striker so far - we don't want to be in the same boat as last season and end up the second lowest goalscorers in the league - we need quality strikers and several of them.
