Can I ask how the ref was correct? I, amongst others were one of those perplexed by the ref not telling the player to leave the pitch, I'm not trying to argue here, rather I'd be interested to know the rule on this. Mackreth looked to have pulled his hamstring, went down, had treatment and was asked to leave the pitch until the ref allowed him to come back on. So why, after their player had ttreatment, did he not have to go off? again, not looking to cause an argument or even a debate, just curious on how this works

Because law 5 states that if the injury is caused by a player who gets booked or sent off for the foul and the treatment is quick enough the player doesn't have to leave the pitch. Mackreth's injury wasn't caused in the same way.

Interesting, that does ring a bell actually, was that recently changed in the last year or two? It does make sense now i think about it - A player gets fouled but can play on but has to leave the pitch whilst the team who fouled would have 11 still....well done ref I guess! Still some ropey decisions but not quite Allison levels thankfully!

The Lino MRS side did get nearly all the offside decisions in the first half correct IMHO . Everyone around me would probably disagree but he was mainly getting it correct. He did miss the keeper hand balling outside the box though.

What would have pleased PAGL, the liner and the ref seemed to be working in tandem and the liner made a few decisions on which way the throw was given.

I appreciate that refs have a tough job, but my perennial gripe is referees assistants doing the bare minimum. They have the capacity to report on things that the ref has missed, but they very rarely do. When fans see the miscarriage of justice, they just go ape. Lino's feel that running the line and spotting offside is their ONLY responsibilities. Aaarrgghhhh!

I am beginning to think that they are told by the refs that that's all they want them to do. The amount of times they look at the ref 1st before giving anything is ridiculous.
