Default Overreacting

Bit bored last night so checked out the Maidenhead away reaction and it's incredible how this forum seems to suggest that we lurch from hell to heaven in a matter of weeks.
It's noticeable that those posters seem to wait for defeat to take RP into meltdown and are strangely reticent in victory.
some question DK's ability as a manager and even want him to step down!
The complete model is questioned and any of us that support it are derided
We are told that massanka will never even be a half decent footballer and that Dibble has fundamental technical issues. Cheap shots are issued about those of us who keep reminding people that at least we have a club.
I'm a self proclaimed happy clapper if owning a ST and going to away games means that and yes I support the model but retain the right to question the personnel.
Everyone is of course entitled to their views and I deliberately do not name anyone I just hope that none of our young players are daft enough to come on here.

I'm also not claiming that I knew the answer after Maidenhead but I did suggest patience (along with others ) and in particular with youngsters like Massanka

Rome wasn't built in a day but if some on here had been in control they would have started building and pulled it down 10 times before falling out once and for all and heading for Naples.

Just wait and see if (god forbid) we were to lose at Torquay.....

I was at the Maidenhead away game Mark and I am sure those who were there would agree that we ground out a result. We did deserve it and I was heartened by the display. It was early days in the season and as usual I don't get too excited when we win or too down when we lose.

Reading some of the threads I could swear we are in the bottom four not the top three!i

Oops - I meant Maidstone sort of devalues my long essay but you clearly get the point.

In patches I thought we were good yesterday but what encourages me is we we're solid on that showing. That is a basis for a top 7 finish which has to be the objective. I think you are right though and this could be a very open league particularly if much fancied teams like TRFC struggle.

It can cut the other way too, the thread about us being champions , calls for Dibble being given an extended contract after two good performances. Some people let their emotions get the better of them but I suppose that's the fun of being a football fan.

For what it's worth I expected us to start slowly, it seems clear that Keates and Darlington et al are building a team from the back up, do initial games were going to be about us being hard to bear.. in theory we should get stronger as the season progresses. I expect players to come in to strengthen us as well.

They have built a very strong defence with the best record in the league at present, but I'm also very impressed with the team spirit. there is agreat sense of togetherness developing in the squad.

Feet firmly on the ground as I am sure we are all well aware a couple of results mean hedonism or pessimism from the emotional posters.

Gradual improvement and still things to be worked on but really positive steps at the moment.

Lets not get carried away either and build some momentum.
I am sure that there will still be many twists to come and I think keeping in the pack is a good place for us at the moment.
