He's 28 years old, he's got a good 6 years in him as a quality CB. He does have managerial qualities but it's easy too soon. He doesn't need that distraction now. If Keates left for Walsall in the next year I would hope Pearson is nowhere near the job as he already has the CB job and is capable of it at a higher level than where we're at now. Maybe when he's been here 4 years and he's 32 and maybe on his way down. I think people forget how young he is for a CB because he's so mature and has obviously had his grave smashed about a bit.

You’re saying give him a 6 year deal?

He's what this club needed
Keates did very well getting a player of his calibre in...

I've had the same fear that if Keates builds something great here and then Walsall come calling, we might lose him. It's probably unlikely, but as Wrexham supporters, we can't be blamed for imaging the worst case scenarios! I don't think we can be considering Pearson's managerial future yet though - Cenotaff is right, at 28 surely he isn't thinking about that yet. At least in the short term we're covered financially by Keates' long term contract. In football terms, we simply need to make sure we learn the lessons from previous failed managerial appointments, be it in 6 months or 4 years time.

The fact that this is something we could have to worry about shows that we're making progress, it's a much better problem to have than worrying about if we've got enough cash to sack someone!

We now have players who are doing corners how they should be, always inswinging (left footer take right side, right footer takes left side).

Only a matter of time before they start cracking the net with headers.
