I dont think anyone takes pleasure in seeing any of our youngsters fail or fall below the standards we need. Everyone would love a full team rising from the ranks.

The reality is that not many have actually improved even when they have gone up a level or 2, most have then come back down.
Lets hope Keates can change this starting with Leo who again is a player with potential but not improving.
I think the reality is that he is 18 and has played 8 games for the club. Far too early to write him off.

People have mentioned Tomassen and Closes but both of those were 20+ before they'd played 8 games. He's made a few errors (although personally i think he looks far more composed than many others at his age) because he's still got a lot of developing to do.

I dont think he's ready to be the defensive cover. But it's far too early to bin him off.

As for Robbie Evans, he played over 100 games for us. He's had plenty of opportunity and the last few seasons he's not come on in the way we all hoped. For his own sake a move was probably for the best.

Just looking at Rob Evans team Billericay Towns stats and they have Jermaine Penant in their midfield too.

England - Billericay Town FC - Results, fixtures, squad, statistics, photos, videos and news - Soccerway

Bet he can't wait to 'star' against Maidon and Tiptree - sounds like a transvestite double act

They’ve Carlton Cole playing upfront fo4 the, and they’re still in The FA Cup.
No doubt we’ll be seeing them in our league soon enough

Possibly, although it has all the hallmarks of something that will.implode before too long. Not sure how tamplin can carry on at the current rate of expenditure either. I expect a reality show or something about it soon.

Don't think it's Carlton Cole

The Rob Evans points I made were bang on the money. I don't think he was ever a world beater but there was a very serious deterioration in his confidence and therefore his product on the pitch when the fans got on his back and made him target number 1. I am not sure why you struggle to understand that a young man would lose confidence with thousands of people on his back?

If you read my post again you weren't single handedly blamed I used you as an example
I didn't ignore, I just don't agree with you. And your point was that people expect him to be at Pearson's level. They don't. But they expect the basics.

No your point was not bang on. You tried to blame fans making fair criticisms and observations for his 'downfall or whatever you want to call it. Fans weren't to blame. He was never good enough. It's just some wear rose tinted specs when it comes to our youth.

I am not struggling to understand anything. I just disagree with you. He never had thousands of people on his back. He just wasn't any good.

A former youth player of ours at Billericay is meant to be pocketing £250k over the length of a 3 year contract.
