I thought both ourselves and Tranmere decided against offering a deal. Archer is a raw talent, pace to burn and offered an outlet but not a top conference striker. I will agree looked infinitely better than Massanka but we already have Reid who looked like a better option to Archer but has regressed.
Let's hope the striker DK has targeted fits the bill and that we find a way to create chances. It was telling that Pearson highlight the teams' inability to pick a pass, not that forwards were missing chances. Our defensive solidity comes at a cost and the lack of goals is that price. I would love more attack football but will accept 'smash and grab' (as per BT sport claimed tonight's result was) if we get promoted.

At least no other managers are gonna nick any of our players. No one has mentioned Chester hit the post and the bar. Great win though, sitting nicely in the league.

Pearson and Manny are simply colossal.

I really don’t not think we realise how lucky we are to have firstly a defender of the calibre of Pearson and secondly a captain who is outstanding! Honestly just give him a 3 year contract extension now.

Pointless signing a striker in January unless we have a more creative midfield or a change of tactics. How on earth we are joint top is beyond me. Nevertheless we are. Hope we can take advantage of our position and be there at the end of the season!

Same here. Thought midfield gave the ball away far too much.

Ropey 2nd half display, we had a bit of luck, but a wins a win.

True, but there are no prizes for hitting the woodwork.

How long have we waited to win at Chester?

Great away win, great 3 points at this stage of the season, to keep us in the mix.

Same problem with the lack of quality in possession, but a derby is never pretty. Lots of work to be done if we are to kick on, but massive credit to DK for putting a team together who can dig out results.

Just so many questions after this game...

How are we joint top playing this bad?

How is Dunn starting over Dibble?

How is Masanka calling himself a footballer?

We were utterly dire bar the defence and rode our luck way too much. Wedgebury should have seen red for a needless tackle. Masanka i don't think ive seen a more useless display from a footballer.

Good job Manny and Pearson have two year deals although i still think someone may come in with a bid for one of them.

Watched the match with a work mate whos an ex footballer. His view is our midfield is the main issue. Not releasing quick balls to the forwards, way to many side passes, too may switch field balls, kill any momentum etc etc.
