Yes at a couple of key points in the season you can. But the club will have created their budget for the season expecting a big crowd against Tranmere. It wasn't an unexpected windfall like the Moult transfer.

The budget is based on a expected average crowd which in turn is based on the previous seasons average. That's why the club were asking for as many fans as possible to attend the 2 or 3 home games around Christmas as they stated that anything over the allotted average would add to the budget. I can't remember the exact figures but it was somewhere in the region of 10k extra for every 1k over the budgeted average.
