I actually agree with you. Chester have shown this - theyve messed it up good and proper because they have not got the right people in charge.

Spencer Harris gets a lot of flack but to be fair to the fella I think he's top notch. Mark Williams (The accountant) is also a person who were very lucky to have on board.

I signal those 2 out but they are not the only ones who have impressed me. I honestly believe we have a fantastic team of very skilled individuals and that the club is in safe hands.

Agreed, they may make some mistakes but overall the board are solid and capable and the recent events at other fan owned clubs show just how lucky we are with who is leading us day to day. If some of the fierce critics on here took over we'd be bust in months I'm convinced of that.

As bigger clubs have shown like Man City, if FFP isn't watertight they'll find ways around it. Perhaps encouraging fan ownership or part ownership would be more beneficial as many fans of clubs are woefully under prepared should the worst happen to their club.
. I think the difference is that incompetence can be found in any structure. What fan ownership helps to guard against is deliberate and premeditated damage caused by owners whose main or only motive is to extract anything they can from the club for their own benefit.

The point is, Telford were pretty well run they dropped a division and people lost interest resulting in their recent struggles.

We came very close last season, only thanks to Keates in turning things around very impressively and once again fans digging deep.

Mustn't forget the fact that where social media is concerned if its not perfect it's a crisis.

For once a really sensible post on the subject, especially if you consider lack of competence to be just one of many risks facing a club.
Errors of judgement for example can and are made frequently, even in entities with excellent governance and sometimes it proves fatal. Shit happens.

We know what it feels like to have financial woes and we need to be careful in making snap judgments about the reasons for failure of others when we are not in full possession of the facts.

Whether we are fans owned or have a sugar daddy we must ensure that we are run responsibly. If that is not ambitious enough for some fans then so be it.

Not seen this elsewhere on the forum. Are Dagenham & Redbridge the next? Glyn Hopkin resigns as director of Dagenham & Redbridge | Dagenham and Redbridge | Barking and Dagenham Post
