I mentioned ian sharpes on anorher conversation thread. Walsal take from us and we take from them? I don’t even know if he’s contracted there. He must be mighty frustrated that he only got 5 minutes as caretaker there before Dean went. Someone fresh like sharpes would be our best bet I think. Any previous player fresh out of their badges and Hungry for the managerial step would be welcome! Chris Doig Is another one. Assistant at Shrewsbury. Ready to make the beak on his own?

A bit like Leeds appointing the great Brian Clough. The managerial/coaching set up we had up to yesterday was the best prospective fit since we had Flynn, Reeves and Sear. Dennis Smith was a good fit in the circumstances a big character and pedigree and someone who had already done wonders with no money.

I don't envy the board's job of getting it right even if they throw more money at it, but at least to me we have got stronger financially year on year since the Moss fiasco.

Agreed. It’s a tough act to follow. God I hope they make the right decision.

We can’t win though. Even if they do make the right decision, they will give the right man so many escape clauses that he will be gone within 12 months. Bellamy is a classic example - if he was successful, because he is who he is league clubs would be activating the thousands of ludicrous escape clauses and he would be gone within 6 months. Still, at least we could bring out the Kellogg’s scoring system again and start another two year plan.

Stephen Wright is an obvious contender if we want to promote from within. Other than him, we need to look for somebody to continue the work Keates has started. It really wouldn’t surprise me if Morrell comes back in until the end of the season. He knows the club, and is reasonably well thought of by the fans.

by some fans. I have said it before so be careful what you wish for.
AM is proven at dismantling a team and poor recruitment and working effectively within a budget. Not what we need as DK has proven.

He’s also proven at getting results...in the playoffs. That display at Aggborough is probably our best at this level

Maybe bring Wright in to assist until the end of the season then re-evaluate.
