It's not that they can't relocate. It's more if you were given the choice of two jobs, you had no previous ties to either company, both paid the same but one was a 30 minute drive from your house and the other needed you to relocate 150 miles away, it'd be a no-brainer.

Fair enough chaps, if you want to kid yourself we've a chance, be my guest.

Young had pretty much just come back a bad knee injury, and had a previous bad knee injury a year or two before. I don't think we beat off any major competition.

Where have I said I think we have a chance?
I just said why shouldn't Hughes just phone and find out.

Its not going to have cost us anything other than a phone call.

I'm not expecting us to sign him at all, but you sometimes still have to make that call.

I think it was all balls as the only thing we know is that he didn't come here. Therefore this cannot be used as proof of anything.

Mark Carruthers of the Sunderland Echo is reporting that a fan takeover for Gateshead has been completed.

It’s pointless and makes us look like we have no clue.

Again, why does it need to be public knowledge. Hughes shouldn't tell us who he is after, just as long as he is doing something no matter how unrealistic it is.

If he doesn't come public and say he put a bid in for him, we don't look clueless.

If Hughes isn't capable of approaching players that may be of interest there is no hope.
The fact that anyone considers it may be beyond him is worrying enough.

I agree and especially before any terms agreed or signing.
It would be nice to know if we did miss out anywhere but in reality that could be information that might not be able to be shared.
Obviously the Rowe bid was mentioned by 1 or 2 probably as statement of our intent at the time.

All that really counts is actual signings and their quality, or lack of either
